I won a NSLI-Y scholarship to study Mandarin in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for the 2019-2020 academic year. I’ll be posting a blog post every day I’m in Kaohsiung. To view blog posts from Kaohsiung, click the “KAOHSIUNG BLOG POSTS” button on the left.
I was also selected to receive a NSLI-Y scholarship in 2017. I studied Mandarin at Beijing Normal University’s Zhuhai campus for two months that summer. The daily blog posts from that time period can be found on this website. To view blog posts from Zhuhai, click the “ZHUHAI BLOG POSTS” button on the left.
ABOUT ME
As of this writing, I am 18 years old. I was adopted from Vietnam when I was 4 months old, and have lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut ever since. I have been studying Mandarin Chinese for four years (wow that was quick), and through studying and NSLI-Y I realized I wanted to study International Relations. So after Taiwan, I’ll be studying IR at George Washington University in DC.
